Absent Friends

Those of us who knew Kim were shocked and saddened to learn of his death. While it's beyond me to sum up his life in a few short lines here, as fishermen we can acknowledge that Kim's work with the fisheries has provided a great many people with a quality of experience that they simply wouldn't have been able to find anywhere else.

On a personal note, I'll miss his company, both on the water and in the field. He was a sportsman, a countryman and - in all senses of the word - true gentleman. If you could do me a favour, before you throw your first line on Blagdon this season, perhaps you'll take a pause to look around you and remember someone whose life touched, and enriched, so many people. We're diminished by his loss and our thoughts can't be anywhere else but with his family.
