Rainbow Point

Lake mapHolt BayWoods BayRainbow Point is the sharply-pointed high clay spit which separates Holt Bay and Woods Bay. The tip of the point gives good coverage to deep water as does the eastern side although for bank fishermen the back-cast can be hampered by the high bank at high water levels.

Rainbow Point provides good sport throughout the year but performs at its best in the early and late season. The exception to this is the "scoop" on the eastern side of the point at its junction with Woods Bay which fishes throughout the season. Rainbow Point fishes well from both the bank and an anchored boat throughout the season. In addition, boat drifts into the Point on a northerly wind or between Rainbow and Rugmoor often provide good sport when the fish are feeding near the surface.
