Rugmoor
Rugmoor Point divides into three main areas:
The Southern side of the point runs from the Pines
to the tip of the point. Boats can fish all the way up the point,
either on the drift or at anchor along any of the numerous shelves.
This side of Rugmoor fishes further out into the main body of the
lake than most people believe - in the right conditions boats can
anchor midway between Rugmoor and Woods with every expectation of
hitting fish consistently.

From the bank, the point really starts at the two
isolated trees two-thirds of the way from the pines to the tip of
the point. From here on up to the tip, bank fishing is good across
a range of shelves. It should be noted that while the water is only
around three feet deep on the "spine" of the point at top water
level, the point only really becomes fishable from the bank when
the water is four feet down and the spine is well exposed.
The tip of the Point gives access to fish almost across
its length and will suit most fishermen in all conditions except
a strong dead westerly wind. The point gives access to a number
of shelves that can be located by the small willow bushes on the
right and left-hand sides of the point. The main shelf is accessible
when the water level is below four feet from top water.

For boat fishing, the tip offers sport at all water
levels and fish can be found among the willow bushes at top water
level. The exact placement of the main shelf is difficult to determine
at higher water levels - without resorting to depth finders most
fishermen start at anchor around 200 years off the furthermost bushes
and gradually "creep" in to determine the position of the shelf
via the length of the anchor rope.

The Northern side of the point is not as accessible
as the Southern side - the main pitch from the bank is around the
small willow bushes half way down the point. Further down the point,
Rugmoor Bay becomes a willow-enclosed shallow flat that rarely provides
opportunities for the bank fishermen.
For the boat fishermen, the southern side of Rugmoor
provides drifts into the flat areas of Rugmoor bay and its surrounding
willow bushes as well as fishing off the shelf from the tip of the
point to the small willow bushes half way down the point.
